24 Hours in Minnesota

 In GO Together Media News

We recently had the opportunity to travel to Minnesota to pay a visit to some truly special personal and professional contacts as well as give a social media strategy seminar in partnership with the wonderful folks with Merz, Ultherapy®, and  NEOCUTIS®. (Somebody pinch us!)

It was my first time to the North Star State. Sabrina was born and raised in Minnesota, and it’s also where she met Rick. He lived there while doing advertising work for MyPillow®, which he still does to this day. We caught the tail-end of the Minnesota summer. It was warm and the leaves were just starting to change colors.

Even though it was a quick trip, we jumped at the opportunity to share our expertise and empower NEOCUTIS’ superstar Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa territory to leverage the power of social media.

A little back story… Sabrina is not only a business owner, wife, and mama, but she also happens to be an esthetician by trade. She practiced in Minnesota before moving to California, hence her love for aesthetic medicine and our med spa clients.

When we arrived in Minnesota, we hopped off the plane and over to Pittsburgh Blue in Edina where we had the opportunity to catch up with many of Sabrina’s aesthetic contacts as well as meet some new friends from NEOCUTIS.

Our seminar the next day was at Pinstripes, which has the best view of the Edina area. NEOCUTIS really knows how to take care of their partners!

One thing we’ve realized from working in this business for nearly six years is that you have to master the basics before anything else. Sure, everyone uses social media on a personal level, but managing profiles for a business is a different animal altogether. For this seminar, we focused on sharing practical advice for businesses so they can start on the right foot and easily identify ways to leverage their social presence.

A few key takeaways:

Quality over Quantity: It’s better to post high-quality content less frequently than posting low-quality content frequently. Facebook’s algorithm favors pages that have significant engagement and no amount of ad dollars will make up for poor content.

Humanize Your Business: Share more than your promotions! Your fans hit that like button on Facebook because they want to see the real you! Share staff accomplishments and give a peek inside your day-to-day, maybe even a photo inside your break room.

Engage With Your Fans: As in, be social! Host a giveaway every now and then. Your Fans will appreciate the opportunity and because they are engaging with your content for a chance to win, Facebook will continue to showcase your content to them organically. We call that a win-win!
